It’s that Time of Year Again…Community Garden Registration opens February 20th!
Happy 2019 Blackacre Community Gardeners!
Registration is now open on our website for all returning Blackacre Community Gardeners. We ask that all gardeners wishing to register with us this year please do so by March 1st in order to ensure your plots are not reassigned. Payment and registration can be done by visiting our website or by stopping at our office Monday-Friday 9:30-4pm (Please call before hand).
There are a couple changes this year:
To help offset expenses, the rental of 30×30 garden plots will increase by $5 this year. This is in line with Metro Government who is also increasing their plot rentals the same.
The garden contract has a few important modifications and are highlighted in blue for your convenience.
The official opening of the garden will be in mid-April. Susan Ballerstedt will be sending a communication out later with more details on this date and assistance with marking the garden plots/winter clean up.
We have had a lot of illegal dumping of wood chips, leaves and other misc. items so a chain has been put across the entrance to keep unwelcome visitors out. Until kick off day, the garden will be open on Wednesdays. Year-round organic gardeners can park in overflow parking on the homestead side and walk through the back entrance. Special considerations to open the chain gate, are to be directed through the office.
We look forward to working with you all for another successful and enjoyable year! For any additional questions please contact us at our office at 502-266-9802 or you can reach our Community Gardener Manager Susan Ballerstedt by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
