VOLUNTEER AT BLACKACRE!
Blackacre Conservancy is fortunate to have many talented and energetic volunteers helping us in all aspects of our work, indoors and outdoors. We invite you to join them: get involved, have fun, and make a difference! Volunteer times and hours are flexible, and there’s a job for almost every interest and skill level. We encourage teenagers, community groups, and families to volunteer. Our youngest volunteer is 6 years old!
Become a part of this wonderful group of volunteers who welcome guests to the Presley Tyler Visitors Center on Sundays from 1-5 pm. Docents greet visitors, lead tours, and share information about Blackacre’s past, the historic buildings, the nature preserve, trails, programs, and more. Reenactors share information while dressing and playing the part of a pioneer settler. Reenactors may also demonstrate a period skill, such as quilting, weaving, or making butter. Docents and reenactors are especially essential for our historical events, such as Pioneer Day and Meet the Tylers.
For ages 13 and older. Training is provided. Beginning docents are paired with experienced volunteers. Volunteers choose their schedule.
